Collaborators

The Minnesota Department of Education and the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board are grateful to the foundational work from which this toolkit builds. This foundational work includes the multi-year efforts of the School Safety Technical Assistance Council to establish comprehensive SEL guidance, including EC-12 grade-banded, benchmarked SEL competencies. This toolkit extends the 9-12 grade-band for adults. In addition, this toolkit utilizes the Standards of Effective Practice, which involved a multi-year collaborative process with community members.
The toolkit is the result of the Minnesota Department of Education and the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board's participation in the Learning Policy Institute's Teacher Licensure Collaborative. We are grateful for the thought partnership of our Learning Policy Institute colleagues and state partners in the Collaborative.
Additional colleagues graciously provided their thought partnership, as well. They represent various contexts: the University of Minnesota, the Minnesota Department of Education's Educator Workforce and Development Center and Academic Standards, the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL), and the Building Equitable Learning Environments (BELE) Network.
Finally, the learning targets associated with this toolkit were informed by the California Department of Education’s transformative SEL competencies and conditions. We are grateful for their collaboration.
